Hope and faith are not arguments
I don't wish Notre Dame ill.
I don't care for the ACC's deal with Notre Dame, just as I didn't care for the Big East's deal with Notre Dame. But I understand why both were made. ND still has some television clout and the deal helps ND avoid playing mid-season home games against Western Michigan and Nevada.
I'm just not sure five games against Notre Dame in 2036 will be nearly as valuable as those same five games are today. And hope and faith that Notre Dame will return to glory aren't strong arguments.
It's a whole lot easier for schools like Texas, Florida, and Alabama to find the next Darrell Royal, the next Steve Spurrier, and the next Bear Bryant because they are big state schools in the sun belt.
